Travel by train
Plymouth Station is only a short walk from the city centre, close to the university quarter, with plenty of direct services to and from Bristol, London Paddington, etc. There is an undercover car park just opposite. Plymouth is a major station and taxis are usually available on the rank, so advance booking is not normally necessary unless you are arriving early in the morning or very late at night.
